I just recently recieved my new motherboard, power supply for my computer. I put everythign back in, and I get this screen. Now my guess is I have something installed wrong, but I am not a expert in this field, so advice and ideas or places to start would be great, so when I get home, I can start with the troubleshooting steps. And remember, the more detail the better! Thanks, here is the picture of the screen I get to.

Did you read my post:) haha, yes, it does. It just sits there like that. I can get into my Bios, should I restore all the defaults first then try the boot up again? I mean, the cards look to be all in the correct spot, so not sure, and everything else looks hooked up.

do you have a list of system specs? brands/models of your parts? have you tried removing and reseating all cards? have you tried unplugging and replugging all power and data connections? have you ran memtest on your ram?

Help us help you. The more information you can provide, the better we might be able to pinpoint something wrong.

Yes, I reset all the cards, took them out one by one to see if it would get any further, and it wouldn't. I then called the "Geeksquad", talked with one of there geeks, and they informed me that it sounded like WINDOWS needed to be reinstalled on the computer. I then took my two harddrives and they checked, there was nothing on them at all. What would possible cause them to be deleted? I got a new motherboard and power supply, but at what point would my hard drives be deleted? THe computer never left my house! :#

In your BIOS there is an option to select which boot device is accessed. I've seen some BIOS' that don't have the hard drive selected as default. Set your hard drive with windows installed as your first boot device.

You never mentioned your hardware specs. There are some combinations of settings that can cause data corruption in certain systems. You should always "first start" a new system with the defaults set. It eliminates the possibility of many potential problems if you have a fault show up. And you did.

I suggest you also check the motherboard mfg. to see if there are any BIOS updates. There are also forums at the mfg website that help greatly when you run into a problem. You may even discover other people that have had the same problem, and how they fixed or avoided the problem.

You mentioned two hard drives, were they possibly configured before as a RAID array? If so the motherboard switchover could definitely cause the data loss and explain the hanging at the point where the BIOS "sees" the hard drives but can't access them after the final POST stages when it actually tries to load the OS.

Usually when you replace a motherboard, especially if it's different model and brand, it won't boot up properly. I would suggest to reinstall your Operating system. So you can load the new drivers for it. Hope that works!
