Check out the Green Button or the Missing Remote for ideas I have the HVR-1600 which works great for Qam and analog programs with vista Media Center and there are better card like the M-780. Those two sites will give you lots of suggestions plus check out HTPC Forums for more info.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion guys. But, I need a good TV tuner card for
my 17" Samsung SyncMaster LCD Screen with 1280x1024 resolution.

Which mean i need a card with which i can watch TV without a hitch on my
full screen and the card should be powerfull enough to handle the resolution
I mentioned above.

Thanks,
Nish

That has little to do with your TV tuner card and everything to do with your video card. I've seen standalone ATSC tuners that connect to the monitor, but they're a bit out of your specified price range ($200). Looking at your system specs, it seems to be beefy enough for OTA HD. Heck, by the looks of it, it's good enough for Blu-Ray, too.

One thing I noticed you didn't mention in your initial post, what's your source (local broadcast, cable, satellite)? Recommendations for a suitable TV tuner card would primarily be based on that. Also, what particular channels do you watch?

Take note, if you subscribe to cable and you want ESPN HD or the like, it's likely that the only way you can get it to your PC without going through digital-analog-digital reconversion (e.g. using Hauppauge HD-PVR) is by buying a brand new CableCARD-ready PC.
