Camera Advice

Post by Alathald »

My mother has commissioned me to do some research on compact digital cameras in the $200 range so I figured I'd ask the fine folks around here for a recommendation. I was thinking of a Canon Powershot but I know next to nothing about compact cameras. Any suggestions? TIA

You can't go wrong with either of the Canon Powershot or Nikon Coolpix series really ..that's what kicks ass about them..PowerShot A-590 is good one or even the Nikon Viper mentioned..

http://www.dpreview.com/
is a good site if you want to read reviews of cameras/compare specs. They tend to focus on SLRs mostly but have some compact reviews on the site. If you want more help they have a forum full of photographers you can ask :P

But the suggestions here are good too.

Thanks, I think we're going to go with the Canon Powershot SX100 IS, it's more along the lines of what we need. Thanks for the recommendations!
