Disable Vista OS Start Choice at Boot

Yet another incredibly annoying aspect of my day......

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 with Vista Home Premium. That is the only OS installed on the laptop. However, every time I boot it up, I get the OS choice screen which will not time out no matter what I do to fix it.

I have tried bcdedit. I have tried msconfig. I have tried going through control panel ->System Maintenance, etc., etc., to get to startup options and have disabled the time out altogether and still the #@%&*!! screen persists. :finga:

Has anyone else encountered this and successfully conquered it? [-o<

Thanks!

Jack

Don't know if this will help but was great at removing GRUB:

As always, backup!
