Hi,
I have a program which has minimum requirements of 2.0GHz Intel or AMD Processor, I actually only have 1.6GHz.
So can someone tell me if the program will work, if there will be any implications and so on?
Thanks,
Leigh

Welcome to the forum, in order for us to take a guess at how the program will run we need a more complete picture, so could you please tell us..
What is the program? And what are the rest of the minimum requirements? What is the full specification of your computer?

I am actually looking into this for someone else so I only have some of the details. Everything else seems to be ok but here is the details. to me its the processor which may seem a bit of problem.
Minimum Requirements:
2.0GHz Intel or AMD Processor
64MB nVidia GeForce or ATI Radeon series AGP or PCI Express graphics card
Windows 2000, XP Home, or XP Pro (eCabinet Systems recommends Windows XP Pro)
Note: Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4, and Vista are NOT supported.
512MB Memory
XGA (1024X768) Capable Monitor
Internet Connection (either modem or broadband)
CD-ROM Drive
Two-button mouse w/Scroll
Details:
Nvidia G4 7600
1GB Ram
1.6GHz Processor
The graphics card is fine because its a a 256mb Memory.
Thanks

You still haven't said what the program is, and depending on what it is, it running slower than normal might mean it is usable (if only just), or it might mean it isn't at all.
Another major thing that will effect it is if the min requirements are listed as a P4 intel, and what type of cpu the 1.6Ghz actually is (as if it was a 2Ghz P4 requirement, and your friend had a 1.6Ghz Core 2 Duo then they would have no problems, but if it was a min 2Ghz P4 and they had a 1.6Ghz celeron then they would struggle).
I think that you need to find out the complete system spec of your friends PC and report back so we know the full picture.

Without any further information, I would say that the Minimum requirements are required to expeience the program as it was made. If you use a smaller processor, it will run the program, but not as well as if you met the requirements.
CPUs are not like ram where you will get a message saying "Your processor is not fast enough."

you should be just fine as you have a dual core, and the 2.0ghz is for single cores
