Add/Remove PGMs has huge blank space--AGAIN!!!

OK, I'm stumped and Pissed.
Finally got the infection cleared on the Dell POS Dimenstion 2400 (with a whopping 256 MB of RAM --can you say **double yawn** I finally got smart and slapped in a gig for the duration of the repair)
Now I've got the ol' huge blank space in Add/Remove. Actually it's not blank, it's a variety of colors.
Anyway, I've gone thru HK_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall and made sure that no program has a -1 on the "Display Icon" key
I've even removed the two programs just before and just after the blank space.
I'm really stumped (did I also mention pissed?) I really want to get this POS off my bench so I can go back to writing my 30+ articles for the boss's blog
Yep, that's right. I have to write articles for his blogs. 500+ words per article x 30+ articles. That's a hella lot of words. I'll be like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" before it's over
*can you believe it, now I'm a writer. I always wanted to be a writer and now I've got the chance and I feel like it's a damn homework assignment!*
That's beside the point, though. Anybody got any ideas at all on this conundrum?
Thanks,
Jack
