To save you some money maybe you want to look at legit deals for the fatality OCZ ram, lower frequency but not sure what the latency on that ram is.

you can save yourself some money and get a dual core instead of the quad. If your gaming it wont make a noticable difference.

Why not wait for the new Intel chips to come out? Should be in a couple of weeks.

Not exactly sure, I'm a little hesitant to purchase new technology. I usually wait for 2nd generation.

How much more better could it be?

I dont plan to run 2, 3 or even 4 Video cards, which I hear that it is great at doing.

I havent been able to track down simple and specific information about them, usually a 12 page review that I dont have the time to read and sift through. Im at work right now. Have they announced a price at all?

I'd recommend swapping the Seagate 640GB drive for the Western Digital 640GB one. Model number WD6400AAKS, i've not heard anything about the Seagate, but can personally reccomend the WD (I have two)

Core i7 Pricing is here:

http://forums.legitreviews.com/about17825.html

The performance is really something, but there is the downside that you will need to get DDR3 to run it (as the first lot of boards are DDR3 only as far as I know).

Personally, I'd drop the Raptor, too. I'd go with either the Velociraptor or WD6400AAKS or WD6401AALS.

I use Seagate ES drives in all my builds (even workstations) and have not had any problems.

interesting article on the Seagate and WD raptor with raid or not;

True, but the Seagate drive you chose is a desktop class drive. Reliability of AS models is 10^14 compared to the NS/ES models' 10^15. The only advantage of the Seagate is the 5 year warranty, which the new WD Caviar Black line also has.

Hrm.. I guess I will wait until the i7 is released. Look at the price difference and then decide. It may drop the price for the processor I have selected above.

Sounds good to me!

My only beef is I'm an ATI fanboy and you went nVidia. But other than that, it's all good. Is your PSU the modular one?

Nope, its not modular. It does however have a single 12v rail which is something I desire. I did find a modular one but the company who makes it is unknown in my book.

Silverstone's been around for a while. Can't say they've made a huge name for themselves though. I think you made the right choice.

You can pick up a VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS for 159.99 after a rebate. The 640 gig WD WD6400AAKS drives are pretty good too. I read somewhere that the WD6401AALS is even better.

I just picked up SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 and couldn't be happier.

I have another thought I would like to run by you guys, and thanks for your input so far.

I've been using XP since It's release. I have yet to upgrade to VISTA simply because I havent heard much good about it.

However, I do want to utilize more than 3.2GB of RAM and Dirext X 10 is something I would like to see and use.

I would still be using the current system configuration up top.

I do also have a few things on my current computer that I didnt really legitmatley purchase. I heard about this Black Screen thing that some people have been getting, is that related to the pirated stuff?

I will however be purchasing the Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit from newegg If I am to get it.
