best motherboard for my crossfire?

Post by jeff213 »

Hey everyone. I'm looking to purchase a motherboard that can use my 2 ati 4850's to their full crossfire performance. I'm running a core 2 duo E6750 2.66 ghz, a 750 watt power supply, 4 gig of ram, and a GA-P35-DS3P motherboard. Obviously the source of my problem is the motherboard i currently possess. Its got 2 pcie X16 slots, yet when running crossfire only runs at X16, X4. This s****y performance results in my crossfire being less effective than just using 1 card. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which motherboard is best for my current setup. I was thinking the X38, or X48 chipsets as they run crossfire to its full potential, such as Asus P5E Deluxe but i'm just looking for some opinions as to some specific boards right for me.
