Hey i was just looking up a mobo. I'm interested in purchasing a Asus P5E x38 board but under the memory section it has ***when installing memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows 32 bit operating system may only recognize less than 3 gig. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended. I just wanted to get this board for crossfiring my two 4850's.

That is just a warning since windows 32bit doesn't recognize 4GB. It's not the motherboard. But, send a link of the mobo to make sure it's a good choice.

That's the link to the board. Despite what it says about vista 32 bit not recognizing the 4 gig ram, mine still does. I'm running 4 gig Kingston 800mhz DDR2 to its full potential. So is it the boards problem then?

it might recognize it but it might not me able to use all of it. i believe it can use around 3.5gb if you want to you the full 4gb you will need a 64-bit os
