No sound on labtop

I was playing on my dads laptop and there was no volume after i came back. My sis was using it and i checked everything volume isnt muted or anything like sound just got deleted. I think the labtop is an hp labtop plz help and dont let DarkStar found out hehe

Suggestions?

So you posted on a forum that you had a problem with a laptop that belongs to a person who frequents the same forum? I think you should have lied and said it was your sister with the problem!

Anyways, did you get the issue sorted or is this something that still needs troubleshooting Dark[family]?

Go to the Sound and Audio Device controls in the control pannel.
Go to the Audio tab.
Make sure your default playback device is set to your sound card and not something funky like the laptops HDMI output or the modem. Happens from time to time.

Now if I could only convince Vista to stop changing my prefered audio device.
