I am looking to buy a hdtv (at least 42") on which I can display stuff from a vga connection on a laptop. I have heard that the tv should have a PC mode that will display 1024 x 768, and aspect ratio correction ability.
What i gathered from googling it that almost any tv can be used, but I would need a vga -> hdmi or dvi cable, since most current tvs dont have vga input.
Is that correct?
Are there any reasonable tvs that have vga input that i can use?
Thanks

Re: Need TV to connect to laptop
my sony 48 inch LCD has a VGA input, i would try to avoid HDMI at all cots though, its a real pain in the ass (when used with a pc anyway)

You can't get cables that go from VGA to DVI (or HDMI) as it would be an analogue signal going to a digital connector, so if you wanted to do that you'd need a converter box.
Like martini said (though for slightly different reasons) go VGA it's easier for you.
