whats better 2x 512MB 9800 GT's running SLI or 1x 1024MB 9800 GTX.

Also depends on what resolution you will be running, the higher the res the more SLI will help.

no matter what the res the sli will help as you have two gpu's doing the work instead of one

Lower resolutions rely more on CPU along with GPU. Sometimes 2 gpu's is overkill which is why you see lower framerates on SLI vs non-SLI at low resolution.

my screen res is 1280x1024 and i will be using the vards for games all high res latest fps games.

1280x1024 isnt high res at all, so no need for SLI. if you have that kind of cash why not just get one 260gtx or a 4870?

well at the mo i got 2 9800gt's in my system and only crysis and call of duty 4 do they use both

keep the 2 98GT's and buy yourself a new monitor to crank the resolution. A single 9800GT is more than plenty to handle COD4.

well thats good then cause a always thought SLI would be much better but then what games acctually use SLI. i know call of duty 4, 5 and crysis do but anything else.
