Whenever i start up my computer, i have to wiggle one of the chips on the motherboard to get the computer to start up, im not hardware technically proficient, the chip seems to provide all the power to the mobo, when i wiggle it on the connector, the computer beeps and starts up just fine... Any advice on what id need to either tighten or replace would be fine, ofr me it just seems the card in that particular spot is loose. and once the computer is upo and running, everythings fine.

Would be best if you could post a picture of what you're wiggling on the board to see what you are talking about..if you could also list your specs of your machine that would be awesome too..I wouldn't think having to wiggle anything on the motherboard to be good at all..

Specs can be found here, only additional upgrade was the graphics, to an Nvidia Geforce 6200, which was professionally put in, ill try and get a picture soon, but its unlikely. Specs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... e=bph07045 I realize this is an old computer, its strictly for my sisters homework pretty much.

well..since you said that was the only thing added, I would assume its the video card, but really..without a description of what you're wiggling or where it is on the motherboard, I can't tell if it's something that can be easily replaced or if it's something worse....if it's on the motherboard itself, it can't be good regardless lol..i have a very similar spec'd machine in the other room(compaq)..so I can't knock ya for having an oldie for homework purposes
