I just built a new dedicated folder, I have it plugged into my router(Linksys WRT54GS)
I have an internet connection and set it up on my network but, I have a network issue.
I can see and access the other computers on my network but cannot see or connect to the new computer from any of the other computers!
Anyone have any idea what I'm missing?

your firewall may be preventing it from being seen.

Are they on the same workgroup?
Have you enabled file and printer sharing on the new computer?
Is it running XP or Vista?

XP Pro(SP2) is OS on all 5 computers.
Yes they are on the same workgroup, and "File & Printer Sharing" is turned on. When I check "Printers & Faxes" my lone printer shows up as "Default Printer" and it is connected to one of the other computers!
I have run the network setup wizard multiple times on all computers!
I am using ZA(ZoneAlarm) for the firewall and I setup a trusted zone to include all my computers.
Just to make this clear.....
I have 5 computers on my network, I can see all the computers BUT the new one from ALL 5 computers. When I open "My Network Places" on the new computer I can see the other 4 computers but not the new one.
The New Computer can not be seen on any of the computers!
UPDATE: I turned the firewall off for the trusted zones and still the same thing!

Do you have any shares set up? Can you browse into the shares using the IP address?
Here's an example from my home network.
\\server\d\-=Full Albums=-\
That is the same as typing:
\\192.168.1.101\d\-=Full Albums=-\

I am a network dummy so I'm not exactly sure what your asking!?!
I have shared certain folders on the new computer but they do not show up in "My Network Places" on any computer.
All other folders I have set to share show up when I open My Network Places.

He's asking if you can manually type in the address of a shared folder on the new computer.
So in the address bar in an explorer window, put in the name of your new computer and a name of a shared folder (make sure to start it with \\ so the remote computer knows it's in the local network).

Ok, using IE I was able to browse to all shared folders on that computer!
When I view all computers in my workgroup it does not show up.

Try pinging one of the computers from the computer you just built. First we need to figure out the ip address of the computer we are going to ping. First we need to get to a command prompt, do this by going to the Start menu and click 'run', in the text box that appears type 'cmd' then 'Enter' or just click 'OK.' Once there type 'ipconfig /all' and then hit enter. Jot down the IP Address and then go to the new computer and open a cmd prompt again. This time type 'ping' (and the ip address of the other computer) and hit enter. So for example you'd type 'ping 192.168.1.4'. Hopefully you'll recieve no time outs and the pcs will be talking to each other. With the introduction of new PCs onto an already established network I've found this to often be the most successful way of forcing the PCs to recognize each other. If the ping is successful, give it some time and check to see if all the computers can see each other.

My guess just from skimming this is Zone Alarm. Try disabling it.

I know the IP address of all my computers. I pinged the new computer and everything went the way it's supposed to. 2ms Ping time! I waited a couple minutes and it did not show up

Like I said I am able to browse directly to the computer and transfer a file from a folder I have set to share! So they are able to talk to each other!
I turned off ZA for trusted zones and still no joy.
UPDATE: I turned ZA off completely with the same results!

have you shut down all the computers, power cycled the router (turned it off for 30 seconds, then back on), and then restarted all the computers?

Give us a complete list of everything running in the system tray. Also, try completely uninstalling Zone Alarm and see if that helps. Sometimes disabling it isn't enough.

do you have Hamachi installed? kappage mentioned LAN parties and that was the big trouble maker at our last LAN. Once we disabled Hamachi, things were much better.

Rebooted everything with no success.
ZA has been uninstalled.
This is a new build so there is nothing loaded to speak of.
Here's a list of what is loaded or was loaded....
Win XP Pro(SP2)
ZA(Gone for the moment)
AVG
Drivers for 9600GSO (178.13)
Drivers for wireless KB & Mouse(Vuescape)
F@H - GPU
Office XP
Live365 Internet Radio
I'm learning to live with it but I'd like to have things working properly!

Is the user account on the new system the same as the others? It has admin permissions in the network?

When I loaded Windows I did not create a user account, so it should have full permissions!

Even without permissions, you should see the pc on the network.
Try going to My Network Places, then on the left click "View Workgroup Computers"
You should see the PC there. If you can see it, you can map the shared folder in My Computer via the tools menu
