Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
I need to replace my Razer Lycosa, which sucks by the way.
On Newegg they have the G15 for $79 + free shipping. Does anyone have anything bad to say about the G15 that may dissuade me from purchasing it?

unless you really need all the extra keys, mechanical keyboards are the way to go

Hell, I am questioning paying another $80 for a keyboard. I am definitely not going to pony up the cash for a $200 keyboard!
Anyone have any good suggestions for a keyboard that will last longer than a year and has "Anti-Ghosting" so I can press more than 4 keys at a time?

abs M1, its what i have. its a good sturdy mechanical keyboard that uses up very little desk space, and has great tactical feed back! you can use up to 6 keys at once i believe. nice and heavy too, it wont move around on your desk.

Re: Any reason to NOT buya Logitech G15 keyboard?
what happened to your Lycosa? (ive got the same keyboard too btw)
Re: Any reason to NOT buya Logitech G15 keyboard?
Well, the USB port doesn't work after less than 6 months. I get a ton of noise while using the headphone port. It randomly cycles through the backlight settings very quickly and in the process ignores half of my keystrokes. It will also lay on the space key after bringing the computer out of sleep mode which requires a hard reset because it locks everything up.haaaam wrote:what happened to your Lycosa? Other than that, it is great! (sarcasm)
I may end up going mechanical again, but I don't have a proper desk and I put my keyboard in my lap. A heavy keyboard really isn't for me.martini161 wrote:abs M1, its what i have. its a good sturdy mechanical keyboard that uses up very little desk space, and has great tactical feed back! you can use up to 6 keys at once i believe. nice and heavy too, it wont move around on your desk.

Re: Any reason to NOT buya Logitech G15 keyboard?
Not really reasonable or feasible but here are some totally awesome, drool worthy keyboards...http://www.datamancer.net/keyboards/keyboards.htm
Re: Any reason to NOT buya Logitech G15 keyboard?
ouch...guess i have something to look forward to down the track ( never knew a keyboard could suffer from Schizophrenia). I think the Optimus Maximus keyboard is one of the coolest going around (if u could justify spending the cash somehow) but other that that i really like the feel of the new dinovo keyboard, but then again that's caus i prefer the tactile feel of laptop keyboard.

Re: Any reason to NOT buya Logitech G15 keyboard?
I've got one of the original G15 keyboards and love it. I've had it for a few years now. My only complaint is that I have one of the ones where the paint comes off of the keys after prolonged use. Personally I love the feel of the keys on Logitech keyboards. This sucker has been through quite a bit. Over the past few months my little guy has been beating and bashing the keyboard. No problems yet and he's even drooled all over it a few times (he's now 14 months old). Anyway, I know they fixed the paint thing and the new board has a slightly different design, but from my perspective it's a solid board.

Re: Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
the newer one looks a bit smaller (original is ginormous) but then again i could be wrong, also i've found logitechs screens end up being more troublesome than anything in the end, also orange lights? not my taste but most review give the new g15 a pretty good wrap
Re: Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
Yeah, I think I will pass on the G15. Maybe if I can find a cheap option that allows multiple key presses at the same time I will go with that.

They redesigned the G15 and made it a bit smaller - oh and I forgot about them changing the back light. I think they also have the older G10 (or something like that) out there that is supposed to be decent. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Re: Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
I have the origianl G15 witht he flip down screen
Been using constantly over a year, love it
No wear on the blue lights suprisingly, and it's as durable as hell, I've take it to a couple LAN parties and dropped it more than once. Macros are a bit excessive though, unless you do WOW or something you probably won't use half of them. Only con I can think of is that it's USb ports are v1.1 not 2.0, but the computer is only like a foot away so thts kinda picky. Best keyboard I've ever had hands down.(lol no pun intended)

Re: Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
Ooops, yeah, it's the G11 that I was talking about. Sorry for not looking up the name of it first. It has some macro keys and is cheaper. A gal at work uses one and loves it.
Here's a link through the LR shopping thingy...

If nothing else, then I'd at least think of it as worthy to put into the mix when considering a new board.
