GPU OCing issue Q?

I have an IP35 Pro with an MSI 8800 GTS 512MB OC. The computer has 8 Gigs of RAM and is running Vista Ultimate 64Bit.
I want to OC my CPU, but when I do my GPU crashes anytime I run a DX10 game. Is there anyway I can keep the GPU speed down and crank the CPU speed up? I haven't been able to hit the CPU's max, because the GPU crashes first everytime.
BIOS had a uGuru option and that is what I use to crank up the FSB, since the CPU is a Q9450 and is at the highest multiplier possible.
