I've been following this for the past week and it's very interesting.

Now that Riva Tuner and other apps are adjusting the voltages without any modifications to the cards PCB there is no way for video card companies to deny RMA requests as they can't tell that voltage did it right?

Will video card companies have to reduce warranties or find a new way to lock down the voltages?

I'm sure they will be able to tell if some part of the voltage regulation system was overloaded, or if something melted. Intel can detect when their CPUs were overclocked & overvolted, so I'm sure there are some methods that could be implemented on cards to show that it was at least done even if the card is unbootable?

Here's what I posted on Madshrimps about the program: :)
Nice. Voltage "limited" to 1.288v on my EVGA SC GTX 260. Program advertises support for Windows 7 and works fine under W7. Program also detects any voltage adjustments already made via Rivatuner. 8)

Heat seems to be as much an issue as voltage. When set to 675/1458 clocks my GTX 260 takes longer to artifact at 1.20v, only after the heat builds up to around ~65c do artifacts appear. ATI Tool finds artifacts instantly if I use 1.288v as temps start at ~68c and climb from there. Think I might try some adjustments to my Fuzion GFX waterblock and see if I can improve those thermals....

No more GPU Voltage changing? http://en.expreview.com/2009/02/07/gefo ... -cost.html. The Volterra chip is the one which I think controls the voltage on GPUs, so if they remove this chip, no more soft modding the voltages. I'm just guessing on this though.

And when you run the Voltage Tuner for the first time.
