New Studio XPS Full Tower i7 PC

I don't know the specs on that power supply, but an i7, 4870, and 3 HDDs seems a bit much.

Around here we like to persuade you to save your money and build your own PC, and I bet you could do better with a little inspiration and some help from the experts on the forums.

Only a 475 watt psu! Definitely seems low to me. I am sure you could save a decent chunk of change by building your own.

Not to mention that they use proprietary parts. so you'll be SOL when one of their cheapo parts busts and they charge you an arm and a leg to replace it.

the other guys are right, that psu is low, in fact i am suprised that the xps comes with a 475w psu and not higher. i would build your own or find a company that builds them for you at only a little or no extra charge. i got eclipse computers to build mine but then had to make a lot of changes myself, so in fact i ended up doing most of the work. in the end i pulled most of my system apart and put it all back together and really wish i had built my own seeing as i had to in a way. could of saved myself £40 minimum.

gotta love how that also makes it near impossible(if not impossible) to switch OS's..still remember a guy i knew had a XPS and he didn't like Vista..tried to install XP on and Blue Screened every time i tried to install it..Dell is the work of Evil

All you have to do is change the SATA Mode to IDE Emulation mode because XP is too friggin old and stupid to understand the controller. I deal with downgrades from the local Oil Companies everyday and have TONS of experience in getting Dells to work without a hitch.
