a buddy brought me a system of his that is supposedly having problems with his raid setup. I dont usually do software raid setups so could use a little help. Its a Abit IS7 motherboard with 2 HD's. I looked for a raid software program on the system (like i use for hardware based raid) but the intel folder is empty and i saw nothing on the MB installation disk. Is there another program anyone knows of i can install to monitor and get information on the HD's ?
Thanks,

It's an Intel ICH5R southbridge.

The problem there is you will need to load the drivers during the installation, unless you have a primary boot drive and plan on building a RAID array with other drives.

Meaning what? I noticed his board is SATA I, so if he buys newer drives you'll have to put the jumper in to make the drive run SATA I.
