I have a buddy in L.A. looking do build a machine for the exclusive use of Adobe After Effects. I am going to build the core of the system with an I7 and plenty of ram. I am not real familiar with Adobe After Effect and the system requirements are a bit lacking from Adobe.

He is planning on running 2 24" hd monitors. Is a high end workstation card going to be a benifit to him or would he be alright with a pair of 4890's or gtx 285's?

Re: Adobe After effects video card
Erm, regular cards will be fine. Not sure if there's a noticeable difference between ati and nvidia though.

Re: Adobe After effects video card
I agree with dan any nVidia (88xx) or ATI (48xx) card made in the last two yrs would be perfectly suited to the job infact

Re: Adobe After effects video card
KK Thx. I figured those would work fine. Just not real familiar with graphics programs like that. I wasn't sure how demanding they would be on the gfx card.
