I bought the parts for my rig in 03/09 from NewEgg and I thought it would be interesting to go back and look at the parts six months later to see what has changed. I factored out the combo deals and mail in rebates figuring they would come close to canceling out. I try not to look at what stuff cost me compared to what it cost now, I'd never stop crying.

But I don't think I could ever bring myself to pay $73 for a mouse, except if it was maybe a Space Navigator SE... I'd give my left nut for a Space Pilot Pro

Aside from the $200 price drop on the 32" LCD, I'm impressed with how much value your rig has kept in the last 6 months!!

Yep, but don't expect that trend to continue now that i5 has been released.

You should try on the Razer Mamba!! I bought one, but only b/c Dell gave me a $50 credit for their online store. Awesome mouse, for the most part.. Retail price is $130.

Prices always fall. The only thing you can do is try and jump on really good deals when they happen. I also tend to buy one gen behind the latest gen especially with video cards.

Price always fall which is true but if you happen to buy "most popular" thing then, the price aint going to go down. Even if you wait 6months or a year...it just won't go down because of the popularity. At the end, it really depends on what components you get.
