Hi guys, I have a simple question at least i hope it is. With my motherboard you see in my siggy, i was wondering if can stick 3x2GB memory sticks in there as it has 2 orange and 2 yellow dimm sockets?
i thought i would ask before getting a single stick as i dont want to waste money on one stick for my mobo to not accept it, but the problem is that i cant afford 2 sticks at the mo so really would hope that i can put 3 sticks into it.

You can...but you're probably going to lose the dual channel mode and run in single channel..I haven't done something like that since the Pentium 4 days so it could be different now..

after looking around i have found that my memory can only be brought in a pack of 2 anyway so i would have no choice but to get 2x2gb unless someone is able to find me a single 2gb ocz pc6400 800mhz nvidia sli memory!

FYI you don't need to match sticks, just match speed/voltage

oh right its just that i thought my motherboard having 2 orange and 2 yellow dimm sockets meant i could put 2 memory sticks in at a time. so your saying that i can put one memory in my motherboard and it will read it as 6gb.

Are you running a 64 bit Vista install? Otherwise you will see zero gains after 4GB. In your case maybe nothing after 3GB, since you are running SLI.

Then you will see the benefit. Keep in mind that more memory usually means less stability and lower overclocks.
