Man I just went to look for a cheap 4GB kit and I'm amazed. The cheapest 4GB DDR2 1066Mhz kit I found was ~$95 plus shipping at the Egg. For a long while there you could get a 2GB stick of the stuff for around $20. When is this stuff going to come out of the stratosphere and land back on earth?

Yeah, that has been delaying my RAM upgrade since summer. Although reasonable deals do pop up occasionally.

I check dramexchange daily: http://www.dramexchange.com/

its annoying how ddr3s are supposed to go down as ddr2 climbs, but the fallout of 2009's economy means increased prices for everything :/

I agree. It's insane.

I remember looking at a set of G.Skill Ripjaws. I think they were 1333mhz and ran $85. A month later they were up to $115! That's one hell of a jump. A $100 set of Corsair was up to $125. The only ones that haven't gone up are OCZ and they are only sub-$100 because of the MIR.

Not that I have a problem with OCZ. It's the only type of memory I have ever run and their tech support is top notch, even if their rebate system is slower than a frozen snail going uphill.

Hopefully DDR2 prices will spike up that high so I can get more for mine when I sell them.

RAM prices are really skyrocketing. When I bought my two 1GB sticks, they were about $22 on sale. Now it's at least $40 if not more. Unbelievable.

Bad news for DDR3
http://forums.legitreviews.com/about25793.html :/

Thankfully I got a huge deal on my recent 3x2GB purchase, because there's no way I would've paid the retail price of $200+ 13% CDN tax for it.

Changed your link to our forum as we had that PR posted the day it came out :) No sense sending people to another site for something we already took the time to post up in its entirety!

Memory is slowly creeping up in price.

I was lucky and purchased 12 GB last summer, sold it on Ebay yesterday for almost twice what I paid ,lol.

never had that happen before.
