Anyone have any experience with these devices? I'm been researching them to put together a easy "wired" network

I have a couple AP's that are POE, but I have to run power injectors as the switches that I have don't provide enough power.

How are the speeds compared to an actual wired connection?

Do you mean Ethernet over power?
Power over Ethernet is just normal Ethernet.

Meant ethernet over power, I'm in an apartment don't want to fix drill holes and wireless isn't conducive for streaming video

You should be fine with them.
Go for the 200Mbit + versions to ensure you can stream HD content with no skipping. They also have better signal quality; in case the elecrical wiring isnt the best.
I use them in our house. 2x PC's upstairs & a laptop/htpc connected downstairs via them too and also the dsl router, 4 adapters in total.
We have no problems streaming HD content simultaneously and throughput averages ~8MB/sec for me and my room is furthest from the modem.
You have to make sure they are not connected into any good surge protectors as they filter out the signal. Also don't connect them to any extension leads that also power high wattage devices.
Using high wattage devices tend to drop the signal by about ~1-2MB/sec; stuff like the vacum cleaner etc.

I use "Asoka" brand ones. They are a bit more espensive but we use them with customers for IPTV in work. Our tests using ixchariot against other brands showed these gave the least amount of packet loss. Tests were done ~2yrs ago so things have proly changed, notably 1Gbit link speeds (not throughput) now from Belkin etc.
