I need a legit review

I’ve been 12 months in my search for a good gaming mouse. I’ve been through three models and all have had issues regarding either software or hardware – I’ll never go 3rd party or wireless again.

So, in the next couple of days, along with my Vapor-x, I’ll also be ordering a gaming mouse - either:

Microsoft Sidewinder X5 Mouse (6LA-00006) OEM - $26 AUD

Logitech MX518 Optical Gaming Mouse - $41 AUD

Logitech MX400 Performance Laser Mouse - $43 AUD

Logitech G500 Gaming Mouse - $90 AUD (pushing budget)

Logitech G9x Laser Gaming Mouse - $117 AUD (over budget, but worth stretching?)

All have 3year warranties. All are about the cheapest I’ll find online. I’ve tried searching reviews, but an unbiased review is hard to nail. So I’m calling on Legit to give it to me straight; which do you think is the better of the five given price and quality? my purchase comes down to you guys.

Just as a matter of interest, is it even worth pushing upward of $150 to $200 for a gaming mouse, or is close enough good enough? I've seen some pretty extreme designs, but some look pretty impractical and awkward e.g. Razor Naga.

I own(in the other room) the MX518 and it's damn awesome for the price.. I felt bad about replacing it with the Cooler Master Sentinel (around $70 on newegg) I now use. but if I had to choose on the list..the MX518 since I've owned it...the G9 is too expensive for the features..for those feature the Sentinel is $20 less does the same thing

I've owned nearly every logitech mouse made and I'd go with the mx400 or the G500 out of that list. Another good mouse, but not on that list, is the mionix 5000

Don't like the look of that. Maybe if it was for Robocop. Also looks like it would induce a mean case of Carpal Tunnel on your hands

Mice are pretty specific to the end user. Your best bet is to find a retailer that has mice on display so you can hold them in your hand. I don't care how many DPI or buttons a mouse has it still has to be comfortable to you. I have a laptop mouse I bought sight unseen and after 15 minutes of use my hand is killing me. After you find one that you like see if you can find it online cheaper.

I use the Cyber Snipa Stinger mouse. I really like it, though I haven't used many different mice, so I wouldn't know how it compares to others. On the plus, it's relatively cheap.

I had a look at the Cyber Snipa Stinger and ergonomically it appears identical to my old Microsoft wireless 5000.

I had to ditch the 5000 because it was wireless and no good for gaming, but mainly i ditched it because of the symmetry and narrowing of the mid-body; the mouse moldered like back-to-front underwear; it fits... but not quite. I had to blue tack a spherical shampoo bottle cap to the thumb rest to insert some width, which of course made the left shoulder button difficult to access. The right shoulder button was even more difficult to access since the ring finger accessed the button at the knuckle and isn't the most agile finger to begin with, and... well anyway, i ditched the 5000 because of the underwear thingy.
