complete format mean loss of several games i no longer have discs for and can not find to buy ive been trying to avoid doin that but i guess it happens

Wow... If I had something like that... I would have certainly have formatted the heck out of it... (I've formatted for less, many times because I thought I had a virus, but really didn't even have one, also because my USB were crazy, wouldn't recognize my mouse on certain ports...)
I think you can pretty much find any game nowadays...

well u can pirate just about any game but finding the actual game disc can be hard to do unless ur willing to spend a fortune sometimes

are you able to bring up the task manager?
if so end task explorer.exe
and then click file run explorer.exe

that succeeded in updating the taskbar which instantly froze until the 30min was up lol
