Asymmetric Eyefinity?

Post by Kattenkrad »

Anyone know if it's possible to run an Eyefinity setup with dissimilar monitors, do they all have to be identical in resolution?

Also, does it work if I say hook up 3 identical monitors to a Crossfire set up using only the DVI ports on both cards?

edit: Woops, wasn't logged and made this thread in the wrong forum. Please move to the ATI forum if possible.

As far as I know the monitors need to be running the same resolution. Reason is, at least for gaming you are only setting 1 resolution i.e. 3x1920x1200 you would set your eyefinity display res at 5760x1200.
as for using only the dvi ports, no it won't work. Needs to be driven off of 1 card so one of the monitors needs to have a display port
