Manufacturer of choice?

Post by Wavid »

which company would you buy from? for me,
CPU- AMD
Motherboard- ASUS (ASRock, spun off from ASUS)
RAM- OCZ, Corsair
GPU- Sapphire
PSU- It's gotta be modular, from a respected/trusted manufacturer with enough power.
Case- NZXT
Cooling- CM? Retail seems to be working fine. Should i snag an H50 for a planned Vulcan build? :-k

let's see your guys' picks! :)

CPU- AMD(Phenom II)
Motherboard- ASUS (No Question)
RAM- OCZ, Corsair & GSkill
GPU- Sapphire, EVGA, BFG
PSU- It's gotta be modular. Agreed which leaves my choices of Corsair or OCZ!
Case- NZXT, Coolermaster, Antec( I have all 3 and like them all)
Cooling- CM? I have a CM V8 and it works great!

Those are my picks!

CPU- Most performance I can afford.
Motherboard- Gigabyte
RAM- Prefer Corsair but I've used it all with little issues.
GPU- Most performance I can afford. Brands don't matter as they usually don't differentiate their products too much for brand loyalty.
PSU- Prefer Corsair but I've used OCZ, CoolerMaster, Antec, HiPro without issues.
Case- No preference. Cases are like shoes what I might like you might hate and vice versa.
Cooling- Anything other than stock.

Throw in another category:
Hard drive- Samsung all the way. They are by far the quietest and coolest running drives I've ever owned.

CPU- Best bang for the buck at the time you are looking? Right now I'm rocking all Intel systems, but have used AMD in the past. My next build will actually be AMD.
Motherboard- ASUS or Gigabyte
RAM- Corsair, G-Skill, Crucial, Kingston (have placed a ton of PNY in older machines as well and had good luck)
GPU- XFX, EVGA
PSU- SeaSonic or Corsair - Antec as well if they're pumping out good ones, kinda have to keep an eye on their products though
Case- Antec
Cooling- This is another bang for the buck area for me. I use Arctic Cooling in a lot of the budget builds that I do for folks and have had good results.
I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong.

Unless they decide to change the standard (ATX, mATX, etc...) I don't see why it wouldn't.

CPU- Intel (i7) Had AMD and they aren't bad but Intel is a couple of steps ahead in today's market. 6 cores is cool but I have yet to find a mainstream app that uses the 4 on my i7 920.
Motherboard- Gigabyte all the way (Intel as a second, I want stability above extreme overclocking).
RAM- Had problems with Corsair and others, never a problem with GSkill. I will NEVER buy Geil again.
GPU- ATI for now, thought Fermi would change things but proved not so much. Bang for buck AMD/ATi all the way.
PSU- Corsair, CM, Thermaltake
Case- Too many to name and VERY subjective. I like the CM Storm series.
Cooling- I just use the bog standard as I'm not an overclocker. It works fine.
HDD - While Samsung is sweet I love me WDs! (black series).
