Media Center PC?

I was thinking of making my Dell PC a media center PC with DVR etc. I was looking at the ATI All-in-Wonder X800XT tuner card but I'm not sure about the software - any suggestions?
Also, it's a Pentium 2.4Ghz with 1 MB RAM - I'm thinking this is plenty fast enough for DVR but I'm reading that it is a pretty demanding application. Any thoughts on this?

Well that all depends on what OS you are going to use. At the moment i am using the stock ATI media center software and it works well enough. My friend uses Myth TV which is a linux based program, it was a bitch to get set up but i really like the way it works, seems like its more stable and more functional than the ATI MMC. If i felt like taking the time to set it all up i would go Myth TV, but i dont have that kind of time right now so im stuck with MMC, which is not my first choice but it does work.

try beyond TV - I use a WinTV PVR to watch/record with but unless you want to switch to linux.... BeyondTV is about the best out there

My Dell laptop came with Windows XP Media Center edition, and I'm quite happy with it.
As for your specs, I don't think there'd be too much problems (I'm sure the 2.4GHz processor could handle recording TV (playback isn't an issue).
