The iPhone 4 is beginning to ship and for some, like me, the delivery date on the confirmation email from Apple says "delivery by June 23, 2010. Launch is supposed to occur on the 24th and using the Fed Ex tracking number, Fed Ex shows an expected delivery date of 6/24. If Apple does deliver some early, it may ease the burden on the AT&T servers which will almost surely falter under the demand of 600,000+ trying to activate their phones on launch day. May the tech gods help us all!

AT&T just changed mine to shipped, the number isn't in Fedex's system yet. Would be smart of Apple to stagger the deliveries though.

Nope, they're gonna hold actual delivery until 6/24. That's what they did with my iPhone 3GS. It was already at the local FedEx hub 2 days before release date and they held the item until official release date.
