~dead pixels?

Post by skier »

so i have a vertical white line going from the taskbar (close to the clock) to the top of the monitor (15.4" HP Pavillion DV6700 Vista 32-installing 7 x64 today). if i apply pressure at a certain angle the line turns blue and a different angle turns it back to normal (going back to white when i release it)

anyone think there is any fix for this?

Unfortunately no. That's a flaw in the LCD matrix. You're likely going to have to replace the screen. You're sure there's not some piece of grit or debris stuck down between the bezel and the display right?

moving the bezel itself does nothing, if i move the whole screen to a certain point or have it bent a certain way the pixels come back fine (using the word 'fine' loosely)
