I am looking for a gaming laptop thats between $1000-1100. I am confused between whether to buy the 450m or the 430m. I want to be able to play games like COD, assassins creed2,battlefield bad company2, justcause2, crysis2,batman arkham asylum and all other most common fps shooter games on preferbly medium to high settings. All i dont know is which proccesor to buy 450m or 430m. 430m is older than 450m by 3 months. Most laptops nowadays I see are coming with 430m so I get scared thinking that 450m is not good but on the other hand i also think that 450m is newer so it might take somew time for more laptops to come out.
Anyways I live in North America,Canada.

Between the i5 430M and 450M, there is basically NO difference.
All the specifications are exactly the same, just the i5 450M having a higher multiplier..but ONE (18 vs 17).

You'll have to look at the other specifications of the laptop to determine which is a better system.
- Amount of RAM and speed of it
- Graphics card/chip
- Hard drive (SSD or normal?...capacity?)
- Display resolution
..these are just some of the other specs you have to look at because the difference between the two CPUs are just too minor.
Also, you have to look at the price difference.
For example; if the laptop with the i5 450M has the same specs as the i5 430M but it's $300 more..probably not worth it.

At what resolution, 640x800? Unless you spend big bucks on a laptop with a "real" video card you aren't going to be playing many newer titles period. The faster CPU will help since the laptop is probably limited to 1366x768 and that's still in the CPU bound resolution.
