Can anyone identify this wire?

This is a picture of a friend's Dell Studio 540. What is that wire seemingly going from the graphics card to the motherboard that is taped on the left side to the case.

does the GPU have HDMI out? it looks like a wire for sound..

Yeah I am betting it is the HDMI audio hook up.

SPDIF cable is the name I believe..but what everyone has said is correct

Thanks for the replies. The card is actually bad we believe. Gonna be replacing it with a card that doesnt have HDMI. Can I just disconnect the wire then?

yes, the graphics card doesn't need it to begin with. think it just sends the audio signal to the graphics card from the motherboard so that the audio can be passed through DVI (with DVI-HDMI connector unless the card natively has HDMI which I doubt)
