I just got a new phone and it uses the USB micro-b connection. I noticed that my mom, dad, sisters, brother in law all use this connection. Is there a reason why most electronics are switching to this connection over the traditional mini-b? Is it faster or more reliable or simply that the connection is a smaller footprint?

USB Cable Question - USB Micro-B
Re: USB Cable Question - USB Micro-B
mostly smaller in size that i know of, first device i've got that uses micro was my new phone, also the cable stays in place slightly better than miniUSB
the sandisk mp3 player i just got still has mini, which i prefer in general because i have more than 10 miniUSB cables

Re: USB Cable Question - USB Micro-B
Same here I have a ton of the mini-b cables and only the one micro-b that came with my phone. Guess I'll have to hit up Monoprice and pick up several.
