NAND flash question

What is NAND flash? How is it different from regular flash?

geez... you're making me think on this one.

Question 1:

Flash memory is made in two forms: NOR flash and NAND flash. The names refer to the type of logic gate used in each storage cell. NAND Flash uses tunnel injection for writing and tunnel release for erasing and is cheaper to make than NOR flash. NAND-based flash media formats are SmartMedia, MMC, Secure Digital, Memory Stick and xD-Picture Cards. NOR flash would be Compact Flash.

Aren't they using NAND flash in the new iPod nano too? I think it has lower power consumption as well, but I could be wrong.
