Does it boot in Safe Mode? If it does then there's something starting with the computer that isn't working correctly.

it doesn't do anything. the monitor stays off until you get to the login screen thats when it comes on and only see the mouse cursor?

Sounds like a driver error to me. Press F8 constantly after your power on the machine. Hopefully the Safe Mode option will pop up on the monitor.

Sounds like his PC is doing what one if mine does. It sits a black screen with a mouse pointer and takes 15 minutes to boot into Windows. If you find a fix let me know, I've tried a bunch of things but can't figure it out.

I got the same problem with my UD3R after my last win7 install, took 3-4min to boot going from the normal windows splash screen to a black screen for ~2min then the cursor pops up and goes to login page.

it randomly stopped doing it one day, so maybe it was update drivers/windows and do regular maintenance (CCleaner, defrag, AV scan) and hope for the best. wish i could help more
