No headphone jack

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40EX400 flat screen TV that has no headphone jack. Is there a way to make headphones work either through USB or by some/any other method?

I'm sorry in my wild and crazy youth I burned out my hearing bumping around in a 5000 watt-4 18" Subs car stereo that doubled as a car.

I was wondering if there was a reasonably priced sound bar/speaker system (less than $150) that has a headphone jack.

Please help!!! [-o< I've only been able to watch TV twice in the last two weeks. Of course, I admit "Avatar" was a BIG problem. Wanna hear them talk? Crank it up to 80. All of a sudden a melee breaks out and it's hurry the frig up to zero out the volume. !@&%$@#!

You can use this but the sound will still come out of the TV. I don't believe there's a one or the other option. You'll also need an RCA cable, didn't include it since most people have tons laying around the house.

Thanks again Major_A. Got the stuff ordered. Tried the setting on the TV. It has two choices: TV or Speakers. Selecting "Speakers" kills the sound so I can only assume (and hope) that if I use the RCA outs instead of the Optical out I'll get sound thru the headphones. Just have to wait and see.
