I've got an X1650 Pro right now, and it does fairly well (I say fairly well, meaning playable, 30 FPS) on bioshock, etc.

I was looking to move up to something with DX10 and that will perform better.

I wasn't looking to spend $300 on a card, I Don't even have a PSU that will support it so something cheapish please...I've looked around but the results of benchmarks are disappointing on some of the newer cards making me think I should stick with the x1650 until I get REALLY bored with my tower.

What are your system specs? I only ask as with a 3ish year old video card you might waste your money by running into some other bottleneck. Just need CPU and mobo model.

Assuming you have the PCI-E version of the card there are a few options but not many. The most powerful card you can get without having a 6 or a 8 pin PCI-E power connector is the Radeon 5670. I have it for my folding, HTPC, and living room gaming machine. It works quite well in a PCI X16 1.0 slot and with your system being 3 years old it's probably as high as you will want to go.

depends if your system has an AGP slot or a PCI-express slot. I used to have an AGP 1650 pro myself
easiest way to tell is to download GPUz, run it and post a screenshot of the main window, so we can see the box highlighted below
