I am looking to build a dream machine. If I put my general specs here could I please have some feedback as to the best way to achieve this. Money is a consideration but not a major one.
Multi CPU (i7 Intel)
64Gb or more RAM 1333Mhz or better
Multiscreen video card with at least 1Gb dedicated RAM
2Tb HDD on board
3Tb or more HDD portable
Windows 7 Professional OS.

These are the general specs. Now can I have some constructive criticisms and some ideas as to how it can be implemented and or improved upon.

let me know if you still think money is a non-issue

i'd go with dual i7 990x ($999) on an EVGA SR-2 ($600) (as it is the only Core i series dual socket desktop motherboard)

or if you want to have the raw processing speed of a dual-hex-core setup and dont want to pay a grand a CPU, then you can get the i7 970 for $570
and of course the XIGMATEK Aegir Mega Killer Double HDT CPU Cooler ($68 ea) to cool each i7

and get two of these DDR3 1333 1.5v 6x 4GB kits ($150 ea) (one kit per socket)
one or two of these EVGA GTX 580 1.5GB ($500 ea) video cards
can't forget a solid power supply like the EVGA SR-2 1200w ($280) which features dual 8-pin power connectors for each CPU socket and more PCIe power connectors than any normal person would use, even including most enthusiasts
and most chassis are off limits due to the massive size of the SR-2 motherboard, so you have a Super-Tower from xigmatek ($250) which looks like one heck of a solid case
get three of four of these 1TB Seagate enterprise hard drives ($110 ea) for storage, and a Crucial C300 SSD ($250) for your OS and certain games
can't forget about the little stuff like this Lite-On BluRay Burner ($110) Logitech G19 Gaming Keyboard ($160) and G9x Gaming Mouse ($65) and Xigmatek Hard mousepad ($30). and finally your operating system: Windows 7 Pro x64 OEM ($140

with dual 990x, dual GTX 580, and 3TB internal Storage, totals around $5600, without monitors, card reader, case fans or misc. small parts

How soon do you want your dream machine? I would wait til the lga 2011 boards come out. I would have SSD as part of your system. Don't know why you need that much memory.

you can't use the 990X on the SR-2, it only supports xeon processors(last i checked at least). And come on, we can go bigger

you're right! awkward lol thought it supported both

guess the X5650 2.66GHz hex core would have to do for about the same price, or for just $700 more each, you can get the X5690 3.46GHz hex core
