About To Use A Sledgehammer!!!!!!!!!

Post by DJ Tucker »

I've had enough with this Rig now and so glad i named it the Destroyer. firstly named as it destroyed any game 3 years ago when i built it, but now it destroys itself. whenever i play black ops and bad company 2 with in 10 mins to 1 hour it freezes my pc and have to hard reset. as i type this i have a sledgehammer (not joking) in my hands and one swift blow will destroy this pc. should i do it?

What are your temps on your graphic card and did you update your drivers lately? Might be one or the other or both. Sometimes new drivers don't mean better drivers. If it was me I would just buy a new graphic card and move on.

my temps on my pc are: (first temp idle then load)

CPU: 30c, 47c
Core 1: 31c, 48c
Core 2: 31c, 48c
GPU 1 Bottom: 41c, 56c
GPU 2 Top: 42c, 58c
Motherboard: 32c, 37c
Northbridge: 59c, 65c
Southbridge: 41c, 46c
HDD 500gb: 24c, 28c
HDD 160gb: 30c, 35c

So if temps are fine then it must be the new latest nvidia driver. tbh i have had this re-occuring problem since 270 drivers. what was the last driver for the 9 series card that acctually helped the 9 series cards, unlike now where the driver updates are for the new cards and do nothing for the 9 series. so what drivers are best for my gpu?

Try taking out the second 9800GT, SLI/Crossfire is sensitive sometimes. If that doesn't work put the other one in by itself.

Not to be a smart alec but if you do make sure you video it! ;)

I would vote for the driver as well. You could try to go back to the 260 or 266 drivers. Or take vbironchef's advice.

I would just like to add that if anyone is running anything less than win 7 64bit than the first thing you should do is to upgrade to win 7 64 bit first.
