Trouble installing WinXP
Hey guys, I got the DFI LanParty-UT SLI-D MB, I installed everything for the computer. I set the BIOS up, and moved the boot order to CD>HD>Floppy.
I put the WinXP CD into the drive. I rebooted. I was then able to set up the RAID array in the set up. I then restarted again and now it just POSTs, but I can't get it to boot from the CD.
What the heck am I doing wrong? I looked at the manual, and I must have missed the secret in the manual.

Well, if you really want to know it was an I D 10 T error. I was an idiot, and put the RAM in slots 1 and 3 for Dual Channel and not in Slots 2 and 4 like the manual instructs.
Now, I just freakin can't get the network to hook up.
I plugged into the top Port and no lights turned on, even though I have the drivers installed.
So I tried the bottom one. It lit up 2 green lights (LEDs) and one flashes every now and then. The problem I have it that for the life of me I can't get the thing to connect with my router. Presently I am using XP with no Service pack, so it may be that I am stupid with the old school type of networking, but I just can't get it.

So true...and my second mistake was to keep the 400W PSU. I'd have waited another week to put the parts together so I could have a little more buffer between eating top-ramon and playing video games (and learning Visual Studio 2005, which MS was so nice to give me for sitting through a Launch.)gvblake22 wrote:Hey, that's no problem dude, we're all idiots sometimes!
