Trouble installing WinXP

Hey guys, I got the DFI LanParty-UT SLI-D MB, I installed everything for the computer. I set the BIOS up, and moved the boot order to CD>HD>Floppy.

I put the WinXP CD into the drive. I rebooted. I was then able to set up the RAID array in the set up. I then restarted again and now it just POSTs, but I can't get it to boot from the CD.

What the heck am I doing wrong? I looked at the manual, and I must have missed the secret in the manual.

Well, if you really want to know it was an I D 10 T error. I was an idiot, and put the RAM in slots 1 and 3 for Dual Channel and not in Slots 2 and 4 like the manual instructs.

Now, I just freakin can't get the network to hook up.

I plugged into the top Port and no lights turned on, even though I have the drivers installed.

So I tried the bottom one. It lit up 2 green lights (LEDs) and one flashes every now and then. The problem I have it that for the life of me I can't get the thing to connect with my router. Presently I am using XP with no Service pack, so it may be that I am stupid with the old school type of networking, but I just can't get it.

After 3 reboots, the network decided to work. Beats me, I'm just glad I have a computer now.

Oh I know what you mean, I have a few of them on a daily basis...

Just irritates me when someone posts a problem, then comes back and says NM I fixed it, but never says what fixed the problem.

yeah cause you know if you had a problem it is more than likely someone else had it and the whole point of forums is to share information and make friends in the community you are part of!

So true...and my second mistake was to keep the 400W PSU. I'd have waited another week to put the parts together so I could have a little more buffer between eating top-ramon and playing video games (and learning Visual Studio 2005, which MS was so nice to give me for sitting through a Launch.)
