Thinkpad Edge E425

Post by chpstx »

I'm on a tight budget; in need of a laptop
and thinking of getting Edge 425
I'm going to use it for univ
mainly for word processing, programming and videos
i also do light photo editing with photoshop
and playing some light videogames...

do you think this will do?

what other good notebooks can you suggest?
budget <$500-$600
no bigger than 14"

I've done light image editing on an older (2nd generation) ASUS EeePC. So I'm pretty sure that anything on the market can run Photoshop. If you start applying a ton of filters you'll just have to wait a little longer. That said get a laptop with a full size keyboard. Nothing sucks more than trying to type a paper on a smaller keyboard.

If I were going to by a laptop my first place to look would be Lenovo. I've played with a few and they are by far the least aggravating. Having said that, they are also some of the most boring. If you want a computer that just works and doesn't have a bunch of bling then you can't go wrong with Lenovo.
