Is a creative Soundblaster Live 5.1 sound card better than the onboard sound of an MSI k7n2 Delta-L ( Nvidia AC97 I think)?

Yes. If you had the nVidia sound storm then i would say its up to you but since you dont the soundblaster will be better than the built in audio. It is highly unlikly though that you will notice any differnce unless your speaker system is $200+.
