*drool* New XPS Desktop, Notebook, and LCD Monitor

Well, I had someone point this neat little flash to me of some nifty upcoming Dell stuff! Well, my jaw just dropped when I saw this. The case on the XPS Desktop looks badass and the specs are... well, you have to go see for yourself.

The monitor, well, that comes with the XPS Renegade. It is a 30" WQXGA widescreen monitor with a max resolution of 2560x1600..

And the portable... holy s**t!! 20.1" screen, DUAL 7800's!!!

Yeah, the new UltraSharp 3007WFP looks awesome, and beats the Apple Cinema on every point too!

Response Time 11ms Gray-to-Gray vs 16ms (Typical) - whatever that means
Contrast Ratio 700:1 vs 400:1
Brightness 400 cd/m2 vs 270 cd/m2

And has better aesthetics to boot! Ok, maybe looks are more subjective.

The price though... $2200 vs $2500, and you just know Dell's going to offer those stackable coupons eventually. 20% off select monitors?

Cool! The only thing I hate about Dell's (& HP. etc) is their lack of functionality with upgrades.

If that Desktop is made for gaming, then why do they use Pentium EE as opposed to an Athlon? Sure, the CPU doesn't matter as much as the graphics card, but they might as well go all the way if they're aiming for gaming.

Because some people still believe in the gigahertz myth and 4.26ghz is a pretty damn high overclock for an aircooled system.
Matter of factly, I do believe that's the highest clocked system you can buy from a name brand manufacturer.

Also, Dell only buys Intel due to all the steep discounts.

Yeah, a bit of a chicken and egg dilemma for AMD.

They need the manufacturing capacity, but then they need the high volume chip sales in order to afford the manufacturing capacity.

yeah, damn Catch-22, lol....well, if they would just partner with some profitable companies, they would have the cash flow needed to pump out more chips; but hey, they're good chips for the price IMO, and I wish Dell would use them instead of Intel (though my mind is bound to change in the next few months, pending on whether they get their act together with the 65nm chips, and if they get an on-die mem controller working as well as AMD's.....until then, all hail AMD!!!!!!!!!)

no joke, I wish socket M2 would hurry up and come out though....it's supposed to be compatible with DDR2 if I'm not mistaken. I would love to see its capabilities with a dual-core processor definitely!

Yes, it's major marketing point right now is support for DDR2 memory.

Those new dell products are pretty interesting though. I think that concept PC thing is pretty cool actually!
And that 30" LCD prettymuch makes me want to... umm..... nevermind
