Any of you guys use cordless mouse for gaming? I got a cordless mouse now that i have used for the past 2 years. served me well but it is slowly dieing...button sticking, little bit of game lag.. So i ordered a new one. Got the Logitech G7. I dont want cords and read that it was for gaming. any of you guys use this thing before?

I heard it's like the G5, which I can't live without now.

In my Opinion, no wireless mouse is a gaming mouse. I have the Logitech G5 mouse and the G15 keyboard and i like them very much. The g5 mouse even has weight's so you can make it weigh as much as you want, pretty cool feature. And it also has Polytetrafluoroethylene Gaming Feet.

I use an MX1000, it doesn't "lag" like some people say that wireless mice do. And it has a real laser in it.

stay away from bluetooth devices...big lags.

MX1000 has 3 thumb buttons
the G5 and G7 have 1 that is why I prefer the 1000

i got one thumb button now. i dont even use it in game...i dont think the thumb will be a problem for me.

The MX1000 uses "Fast RF," I don't know if that's Bluetooth or what, but it doesn't lag. And the thumb buttons are darn useful, if games don't recognize the extra buttons (which they often do not), I use LogiGamer, which acts as an intermediary, allowing me to program every button. The center thumb button is Reload in every game where guns are involved....

I use the MX1000 and love it, just make sure you have a nice felt style pad so the unit moves smoothly.

well, been using my nice G7 for over a week now...it is nice.

I own the MX1000 as well as the G5 and can say that there is no contest, the G5 is superior. I was a die hard MX1000 supporter but decided to give the G5 a shot because when you lift the MX and put it back down it doesn't start tracking right away. When I play first person shooters I prefer the mouse sensitivity very low so some quick movements would require me to lift and reposition the mouse. I can't tell you how many times I was killed because of this. The G5 not only eliminated that little quirk, it adds precision to all movements which to me is where the biggest difference is.
I've had the G5 for a couple of months now but just got back into playing CS:S and a friend of mine noticed a huge difference in my accuracy.
The MX is now the official mouse of the Legit Reviews video card test bench. ;)

I have yet to see any lag with the G7. With my old wireless mouse, i would have to move the mouse a lot to "wake it up" and to turn the screen saver of...With the g7, i dont even have to move the mouse to wake it up, i just touch it and it wakes up. I love the rechargable batteries that are super easy to swap in and out. one of the coolest things is the ability to change the sensitivity on the mouse itself with bottoms on top. Medium sens. when running around in BF2, then switch to low when sniping, then to high when in tanks. great feature. The software is also great. you can map buttons specifically to which game or program you are using or as a global change. its awesome.

My MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 doesn't seem to have any lag, but then again I suck at gaming.

Yeah the G7 is the way to go here Matt. I have one that was suggested from a friend. I have never found a wirless mouse I liked until this one. Good Buy!

I just got a Logitech G7 and it's THE ONLY wireless gaming mouse. I have yet to see the 2.4ghz wireless connection display even the slightest bit of latency or wakeup symptoms.

It glides so nice on a hard mousepad and can be used on nearly any surface. The on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment works great for many games and allows for great precision as well as quick wrist movements for FPS games. I play mostly MMO's so I don't use this all too much, but I can definitely see it's purpose.

The only downfall I see with teh G7 is it lacks a forward button and is not rechargable. Other than that, if you are a gamer and want wireless, Logitech G7 is the way to go.

It has the rechargable battery. They give you two. one to us and one to charge.

I had issues with the MX1000. I would have to shake it to get it to start tracking again. I've read that the lasers do not like dark mouse pads. Any truth to that? I have a black mouse pad and even tried it with no mouse pad but my desk is dark also. Nothing but problems with it so I plugged my MX500 back in.

Best to have a mouse pad with a pattern.
