Wanted: your thoughts on the x800 GTO 2 from Sapphire

Post by Durnock »

I am looking to upgrade my vid card and want to spend less than $200. Newegg has this listed for $189. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102645

I would welcome your thoughts and comments. My current vid card is an ati x800 se that came in the dell pc.

Even though I do not post often, I enjoy reading and am looking forward to building an OC rig in the next few months.

Thanks for your time and help!

great buy.......The GTO2 is one of those "special" pieces of hardware.....Like TwinMos speedster ram (BH5), the AMD 3700+ and others

You can't go wrong buying it!!!!

Let us know how it works out, post some 3dmark scores b4 and after!!!

if i got off my ass and put my Zalman + ram sinks on, plus did the volt mod i bet i could get 600 out of the core.

IMO the GTO2 really is hands down the best buy in the X8xx series.

I'd go even futher to say it's prolly the best bang for buck GFX card ever!
The first X800pro's were cool too, I modded mine to an X800XTPE..........

I think that this card is absolutely awesome!!! I'm thinking about upgrading my 6600GT AGP and I thought about the 6800GS as a serious alternative but then, after reading some reviews on the X800GTO2, I've changed my mind. I think that the X800GTO2 is better since it comes with VIVO and can easily modded into X850XT!!! It has great overclocking potential and for me, this is the card.

If you're into overclocking, this is the card for you. If you don't want to void your warranty nor risk your video card, go for the 6800GS.
