Hello everyone. I have a strange pagfile in that it keeps resetting itself to 10GB. i keep setting a custom size of 6gb intial and maximum. When i reboot my pagefile resets again to 10GB and the pagefile window says that pagefile is set to no pagefile? I decided to set "No Pagefile" on my hard drives and then have my pagefile cleared at shutdown.. When i rebooted my system i successfully deleted my pagefile on my primary hard drive then added a pagefile to my secondary hard drive of 6GB. Upon rebooting, the pagefile on my primary hard drive reappeared. For some reason, it is refusing to use the pagefile on my secondary hard drive. Anyone have any idea how to get the pagefile on the second hard drive to be the only pagefile to exist and to stop this huge 10GB pagefile reappearing?

I think that you were on the right track but for whatever reason it didn't stick. In the past I'd set the pagefile to 0, reboot, and then adjust it to the value I wanted. Since you aren't running an SSD as your primary/OS drive I'd say just leave it alone. There were some benefits of playing with it back in the low RAM (256MB-512MB) and XP days but now it's not even worth messing with it. My $.02.

Ok so i have managed to get the fil size down to 6gb but it refuses to go any lower so i'm keeping it at that. nothing else i do works
