New build issues!

I recently put together a new build for myself and I've been having issues.
Lets start off with the 1st time I tried to install Win7 Home Premium it failed mid load. I then switched DVD rom's and it installed fine. I've had a couple issues with stability but found out it was win7 and all it needed was a couple hotfixes. After installing those updates I was able to run Prime95 for 10+ hrs with no errors. I also ran memtest for 11hrs. with no errors.

My issues now are these:
1. During web surfing(Firefox) my cursor will freeze for several seconds then it clears. With that sometimes when this happens the cursor disappears.

2. I also get a random issue where it seems the computer goes to sleep but it will not respond to anything I do except to hit the reset button or turn it off and on. This happens at any time interval. Sometimes it will go a whole day and not do it and others it does it in an hour or so.

I installed some new memory, ran memtest and still have the same issues. These issues happen randomly.

Does anyone have any ideas what may be going on here?

Check for a BIOS update. If up to date play with the power settings in the BIOS to see if you can fix the sleep issue.

I updated BIOS to the latest this past weekend. I also disabled screen saver, set it to turn monitor off at varying times usually I keep it at 15mins. I also have it set to NEVER go to sleep and I have reset that a couple times. I have been messing with this for more than 2 weeks and as I stated before sometimes it'll go for a day or so with no issues and other times it wont make it 2 hrs. I even went as far as disabling all Power management features in BIOS with no joy!

The first time I loaded windows I did all the updates for windows. This time(2nd) I didnt take any security updates yet. If it runs for 2 days with no issues I plan on doing the security updates OR secure erase the SSD and try a different disc to load windows. As I said before it failed to complete the first windows load and that bothers me. I've never had that happen before!

Here's a list of what I have for hardware, I should have included this in the original post, my bad.

ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0
AMD 8350
CoolerMaster V8 GTS HSF
Corsair HX 750 PSU
EVGA 560 Ti SC
Samsung EVO 250G SSD
(2x) ASUS DVD - RW's
I have also had 16GB(4x4) of GSkill RipJaw X memory(Original memory) I now have 8GB(2x4) GSkill ARES
Both sets of memory passed Memtest for at least 11hrs.

What mouse with what drivers?
Usually the first place to look is USB drivers for motherboard.

Logitech 520 combo. Yes updates were run.

Since my last post it ran about 2 1/2 days fine then just froze up.
I am thinking something may be up with the Samsung SSD.
I decided to secure erase and load Windows with another disc I have and it would not let me secure erase the drive. It also would not let me repair or reinstall windows. I was finally able to format the drive(after multiple tries) and then was able to load win7 with the different disc. All of that went rather smoothly. I did all this late last night(sat. nite), so I'm still tweaking everything and hoping for the best!

What does Samsung Drive Magician and/or CrystalDiskInfo say about the health of the SSD? Few other things to try...
1) Try a different SATA cable. I ran into this issue a few months back with one of my machines. The SSD kept corrupting itself and couldn't figure out why. Out of desperation I finally swapped the cable and it hasn't done it since.
2) Try installing Windows from a flash drive, I like Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool. Plus using this way of installing is a lot faster. Another plus would be to see if the program has an issue with the installation disc. I assume an error would pop-up when copying the files to the flash drive.
3) I've had RAM pass Memtest for a few days and still wasn't entirely stable. Try giving the sticks a little more voltage and/or loosen the timings a bit.

According to Magician the drive is in GOOD health.
If things dont get any better I will try the cable switch!
As I stated before this last install was done with a new disc using the same key. That install went well.
Its been running since Saturday nite with only one issue.
While running Prime95 I had 3 windows open in IE and watching an HD video, the video driver flinched, windows recovered the driver and stopped the video. Prime95 kept running. Its pretty much been running ever since!
As I stated before I changed the memory with the same results. So I would doubt its a memory issue.

UPDATE: 2-15-14
Apparently it was windows. I'm guessing a corrupted disc.
I did the reload using a different disc and I've been up and running for almost 13 days now!
I've ran Prime95 twice, 11 & 16 hrs respectively with zero issues!
:supz:

I had a similar issue with my new build that turned out to be a corrupt windows install. after I reinstalled fortunately with the same disc it worked great. glad to see all your issues have been sorted :)

Did you install Win7 or 8?
It surprised me! I cant count how many times I've loaded windows and have never had any issues.
At first I was really thinking it was a hardware problem. When I reinstalled win7 and was having the same issues.
I kept testing all my hardware and it all checked out. Then I decided to reinstall windows using the other disc and to my surprise its been fine ever since!

it was windows 7 professional. I thought it was my hard drive saying it had enough but just a simple installation error thank god as I spent £600 on this build. £100 more than I was expecting to spend but only because I had to get new optical drive and OS :(
