Dual Processor Board

I have a board with dual processor support but only installed a 775 P-4 630 3 gig but in the device manager in window Xp it lists 2 Pentium 4 3.0 gig processors is this normal I was going to uninstall one of the entries but i said to myself is it bothering anything I guess not so I have left it alone for know anybody have any feedback on this issue or nonissue. Thanks

That's normal......Your CPU supports hyperthreading so XP thinks there is 2 CPU's........... ;)

that would be either Hyper Threading or a Dual Core CPU, thats why you see two processors.
BTW what board is it, because i dont know of any dual P4 motherboards.

I suspect he means dual-core processor support. A dual P4 board would be very strange since AFAIK Intel makes sure that their P4 procs will not work in a dual socket board. They don't want to do what they did with the PIII line.

The board is model Asus P5P800SE with upgraded bios 0401 and oc'ed to 3.3 and yes it is a dual-core processor board Thanks for the info
